I started doing voice work as a cable installer in Columbia, Missouri. We had a studio where we produced commercials for local businesses. I had the opportunity to do 12 to 15 commercials over the year I was there.
When I started working at the University of Rkansas in Little Rock, I went to the public radio station on campus and talked to the producers there. They brought me in to do some work for different classical concert series as well as fills over music beds for different drops.
They later recommended me to the University Television producers, where I became the "Voice of University Television" for UALR. I record intros for lecture series as well as promos.
I was asked to record the automatic messages and prompts for the UALR Computing Services Help Desk phone system.
I have taken speech classes in college. I have also had 6 years of classical voice training under professional performer/instructors. I have spent a lot of time speaking in front of groups ranging from a dozen audience members to a couple of thousand, usually without amplification.
In process. I have been using the television stations equipment, but am starting to set up my own studio.
I am an IT professional. I have spent the last 15 years in the field of computer support, first as a end user support technician, and now as a Windows Server Administrator. I am comfortable talking about many diverse fields, from sports to computers to science to history.
