When my son turned four, I had a sleepover for him and all of his seemingly ADHD friends came over to stay with us. I read them a Scooby-Doo book so I could have some quiet time, thinking I would probably only get through half of it before I had to tie them down and then finish. To my surprise, the boys were so captivated by my reading style and we actually read two and a half books before they were ready to take off running again. When the boys' parents begin arriving the next morning to pick them up, they had talked me into reading them yet another story and their parents were amazed at how well they sat and listened to me. I don't know if it's being a big kid myself, but children love to listen to my voice.
I have never had any experience with voice over, but between reading for my own son, and being a corporate trainer, I have had much experience in delivering material in a way that people want to hear it.
