In June of '83, I graduated from Brown Institute in Mpls. I interned for six months at what is now the NBC affiliate KARE 11. I left is search of on camera experience but veered of track into small town radio for three years (Iowa, Montana)pulling an air shift, doing high school play-by-play, while writing and voicing spots daily. I came back to the Twin Cities only to find sales positions available so I jumped in. In the three years that followed I featured character voices from Dracula and Igor, to Mean Gene Okerland, Loving husbands to Racing Announcers. I easily can adapt to what any advertiser is looking for. My final official ad campaign was with Arctic Cat and Miller Genuine Draft for KJJO-FM in 1989. I created, wrote, and voiced the entire campaign. in the past three years I have done internet color commentary for MSBN in Mpls. I sing (tenor to 2nd baritone), play guitar, and write music. I am also active in the worship ministry at my church.
An 18 week Voice Actors Training Workshop conducted by Larry Russo in 1991. This workshop focused on the industry, voice development, reading both out of class and in front of the class, performing, character interpretation, and new character development. Other training has spanned 19 years of being a DAD and the hours upon hours of character voices I have performed in keeping belly laughs going, turning bad moods into not so bad moods, and now seeing my kids as young adults developing their own skills over voice characterization. I can say that I've become a coach/fan in addition to being a talent.
I am currently working on studio arrangements
I have been in sales for 25+ years. In that time you see and deal with a wealth of characters. I was a successful youth coach in both boys and girls sports. I am a former PGA Teaching Professional. In addition to internet sports I also did a couple of guest color spots on local cable play-by-play. I am versatile can carry myself well both on and off camera.
