Kathryn Tyler King

I have been told that I have a lyrical voice. I have had voice training as a child and in college. I have been involved with groups of singers and as a soloist, leading others to sing and help with vocalization in groups. I find it important to speak clearly, enunciate correctly and know when to breathe and hold notes as a singer. My style of singing is not operatic but what I call a "mic" voice. l love telling stories and use a lot of changes in my voice and expression. I can do some British and some French accents.

As a child, my dad taught my sisters and myself how to harmonize. Later I was involved in choirs throughout high school and college. I had experience working at a radio station and receiving training in using actuaries in news programs that I wrote. I have been playing piano and teaching piano since college. I have experience in playing piano and keyboard in a church positions for over fifteen years and was a song leader as well for nine years. I taught choir two years for a school where I live for ages Kindergarten through 8th grade. I now teach piano and voice. I don't have professional equipment but have recorded songs on my phone that turn out well. I can record on my computer and make MP3's or Wav.
