I first discovered the uniqueness of my voice in theatre playing a lead part playing of Puck in A Midsummer Nights dream, which involved giving long speaches in Shakespearian English using a mischievous naughty excitable voice. It was important to show the meaning behind the language for the modern audience without over acting, and Ive been old I captivated it extremely well. I went on to sing in a ska/reggae band, soulful, sexy and deep, and also I sing in a band of theatrical moulin rouge psychodelic ska/punk/pop, which involved hysterical laughter, spoken word whispering and trip hop singing. I have been recording my album at www.myspace.com/katbonaventura, and I write my own songs, often showing the contrast between a childlke voice and a more womanly deep voice. I was filmed singing in a busking scene for Channel 4s dubplate drama after they talent spotted me, aired in November 2007. Also I recently was aired on Channel 4A radio singing one of my original songs, released in June. I have been filmed singing a cabaret theatrical song for a music video, which will be avaliable to see on youtube soon.
