I started gaining voice over experience, when I was asked to do voice work for various people that needed someone at the time and I happened to lend my services. From station identification for an internet radio station to local radio commercials for the Art Institute of Chicago as well as being asked to do story time with young children in preschools.
I have a Bachelors of Music Education degree, where I also studied vocal performance and various parts of the arts including being on stage as well as an acting/communications class. I attended a voice over workshop to learn more about the craft.
As a teacher of young children, I have learned to use different voices to engage them, especially during storytelling time. As a vocalist, I have learned how to envelope the audience into whatever song I am singing to draw them into the experience. Even when I was answering phones, I would work on doing various characters and accents.
