Following four years military active duty I took a job working aboard Norwegian flag ships and sailed around the world for three years. By the late ‘70’s I decided to continue a career ashore in international maritime. I spend the next 25 years in cargo and cruise ship port operations, including ship agency, stevedoring, cargo-traffic management, port-wide related sales and marketing. My ability to communicate before large numbers helped to promote whatever professional endeavor I was engaged in as well as my career.
My professional skills developed and centered on the movement and operations of ocean-going vessels and related port-support activities. I interfaced with vessel owners, charter-companies, cargo importers/exporters, US government agencies including Customs and Immigration. I hold a US Customs Brokers License. My myriad experiences and detailed knowledge of passenger and cargo movements, combined with my communication abilities, enabled me to successfully promote companies and client products and services throughout my career.
