I am an attorney, and for the last 7 years and I have appeared on a radio show to promote my firm. I was chosen to appear on the radio because of my voice and my knowledge in the field of law that I practice.
Bachelor of Arts at the University of Colorado, and Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver. I have been part of a radio show for the last 7 years, and I have done countless hours of work in a courtroom. My voice has been an essential tool in court.
I have a home studio. The equipment I am using:
Rode NT1-A Cardioid Condenser Microphone connected to the
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Recording Audio Interface. A Stedman Proscreen XL pop filter is also attached.
My radio and court room work has provided me with a solid foundation for voice over work. Some of the same skills that are used for voice over work are also used in the court room. My voice must project and it must be clear. I have to be professional and convincing. But most importantly I have to tailor my voice to fit the narrative of the story I am trying to convey for my client. I will provide those same skills to my voice over work.
I have, and I have continued to take courses on acting and VOs. Just like most professional fields, I believe it is important that I continue to educate myself and improve.
