John has been born into the world of voice talent. Raised by a household name in the radio and television voice over business, Lonnie Perkins, John was on the air by age two. From the Indiana Pacers to Focus on the Family, John Deere to Future Farmers of America, John has garnered quite the portfolio.
John has had the privilege of growing up with the Babe Ruth of voice over work. His dad, Lonnie Perkins, taught John the ins and outs of being a great voice over talent. From learning to feel the script, to taking direction in studio, to adding variety to the same sentence over and over again, John has learned valuable tools that can only be taught with experience. Imagine spending 19 years with Don Lafontaine, well maybe not that great, but still pretty close. That's the training and education John has garnered.
John's weapons of choice have varied over the years, changing with the environment. As a college student, John uses a Yeti Stereo Microphone paired with Adobe Audition editing software. He has access to a soundproof room on campus. John also has frequented Earshot recording studios in Broad Ripple for commercial spots.
