I'm the director of programming for WICX 102.7 HopeFM in Concord, NH, and have been thoroughly involved in every aspect of voiceover production for our radio station. I started out recording a few voiceovers out of necessity for the station, but quickly discovered that I truly enjoy recording them, and have a knack for it. Since then, I've decided to put my talents to use recording freelance voiceovers professionally.
Focusrite CM25 large diaphragm condenser mic; RODE M3 small diaphragm condenser mic; Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface; Macbook Pro; Reaper DAW. I've constructed a small temporary vocal booth for myself in the corner of my office, and am in the process of building a more permanent one.
Most of my adult life, I have worked in the computer industry. As such, I'm extremely comfortable utilizing technology to its fullest in every project. That doesn't mean I'll overload recordings with too much processing and effects. To the contrary, I have a keen sense of which technologies are called for, and how to apply them in a minimal, but effective way.
