Much of my past has allowed me to secure theaterical roles in musical and straight plays; these characters have had British, Russian, German, Scottish, and American English accents. I have narrated small-scale documentaries in Washington state and have served as the announcing voice for theater groups. Additionally, I have earned awards for public speaking in Virginia and Germany.
Currently, I am working on recording much of my own poetry and fiction.
My instruction in voice has largely been through theater and public speaking; my directors focused attention on dialects and accents for authenticity (ex. Cockney accents for "Oliver!"), and coaches for dramatic interpretation and speeches worked with me on timing, volume, pitch, and inflection.
My educational history is very diverse; I have pursued studies in English literature, theology, French, and culinary arts. Work experience has opened up opportunities in journalism, customer service, banking, and non-commerical cooking. Ideally, I will be able to merge my voice talents with creativity in the arts or in one of the fields in my background.
My written and oral communication skills are excellent. Additionally, I am very proficient with computers and common computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, Macromedia, Adobe Photoshop). Also, I have published a number of my poems in journals, as well as newspaper articles and essays.
