I've been working in radio, on air, since 1977 and have done many commercials over the years, from in house voice work to outside agency work for radio and TV. I'm used quite a lot for laid back natural reads for jewelry stores and flower shops to fun spooky Halloween type reads. I do my voice work right in my home studio. My radio group is Regent Communications in Flint, MI. In recent years I've worked with the Lockwood Agency, Phoenix, AZ., The Creative Group, Clio, MI., and WHMI, Howell, MI.
I graduated from a 2 semester course in radio broadcasting in 1976 from Mott Community College, Flint, MI. In 1977 I was hired and trained at WWCK in Flint, where I worked as an on air talent for 11 years developing my voice over talents with many projects from radio and TV ads to promotional narrations. I maintain my radio and voice career today at Regent Communications.
In my home studio I use RE20 mics on an Mbox2 through a PC system using Pro Tools or Adobe Audition. The stations production facility is a full blown state of the art Mac system with boards, processors, RE20s and Pro Tools.
I've been interested in the entertainment field since boyhood, any aspect of it. I excelled at theater in high school, finding it fun to learn how different characters I was playing talked, sounded and reacted to certain situations. This early interest made radio a natural choice for a career, and allowed me to step into it effortlessly. I love watching actors in movies and "listening" to how they use their voice to play their character. My experience in theater and radio, I feel, plays a big part in the "voice acting" of any voice over project.
