Vocal training (music) from the age of 6 thru the age of 16. Training included operatic music, so you can imagine that I have a very powerful voice and great control of it. I've done IVR and voicemail recordings for businesses, and I've done character voices for audio recordings of the Bible. I've done narration and I've done storytelling. I also have experience with journalistic storytelling used for reporting news stories.
As I stated before, my control of my voice comes from years of training in vocal music. That, and growing up with a bunch of goofball brothers. We'd always repeat things we'd hear in the cartoons and movies we'd see. In terms of formal education, I have a BA in Theatre: Acting & Directing, and have completed half of an MA in New Media Journalism. Yes, I said half! Due to financial and time restrictions I opted to withdraw from the program instead of trying to stumble on through the program and risk ruining my 4.0 GPA.
In terms of equipment, I have a MacBook Pro and the Adobe CS6 Creative Suite. I also have a decent headset mic and a shotgun mic as well. It may not sound like much, and really it isn't, but I use it quite efficiently and find that most people are quite surprised at what I've been able to do with it all. I maintain that it's not completely the equipment that you have, it's how you use that equipment!
I stand 110% behind my work! I am not okay with mediocre, and that comes through in everything that I do. If you'd like to put me to the test, I gladly record short samples of your script to demonstrate the level of creativity and professionalism you can expect from me.
