Voice Over MC for several government events including awards ceremonies and military balls.
3 years of volunteer work with Children's Hospitals and inner-city programs utilizing voice talent puppets and cartoon presentations, (where all the character voices come from ;-) )
But the most interesting story comes from a naval deployment I was on where an Italian ship kept annoying the entire strike group with random calls about absolutely nothing. So around the 5th time they called us, my Executive Officer hands me the "red phone" and says, "You deal with them."
So, in my most outragious Italian accent, utilizing the standard radio voice over giusto, and mocking the guy who just called us and asked where we were (even though we were 1,000 yards off his side), I answered his call with all due protocol and professionalism that I could muster.
They never bothered us again. And the next time I went on the Australian flag ship, I gave a vocal presentation of my accent skills to their Commanding Officer, being told I made their 7 month deployment worth while.
18 years of voice experience from stage to classroom instruction. Musical director for productions of Cabaret, The Fantastics, Jesus Christ Superstar, & Little Shop of Horrors.
Background vocals, backup singer on a Habitat for Humanity compilation recording
Working with children's organizations and animated and puppet performances forced me to create numerous characters for those days when I would be the only one who showed up. In the end, it only helped my variety increase.
I'm currently in my second enlistment in the US Navy, and am finally on shore duty with a much more flexible schedule.
I'm easy going, very creative, and get along with 95% of the people I meet.
I give energy to small groups, and when the creative juices start to flow, the synergy we create is spectacular.
