My first job was in radio sales, but I soon found myself spending a significant time in the sound booth, recording spots for clients who had requested my voice. This led, by word-of-mouth, to a busy free-lance career doing regional Radio/TV ads, modeling, industrial videos, phone messages. I can "announce", and I can sound like the "neighbor next door". I've been the spokesperson for several long-term clients, do pod-casting and am voicing an audio book for a well-known Canadian author/scientist.
I have a degree in communications from Indiana University (Bloomington).
Drama and music have been a huge part of my background, performing, writing and directing. I've done community theater, created and led children's music/drama groups, and written and directed plays for churches and schools (some of my drama scripts sell on-line).
I've written everything from copy, to scripts, to press releases, articles, and promotional pieces and am always working on a manuscript (or my website).
I didn't find voice-over work so much as it found me.
I use ProTools LE 7.3 with an M-box and Sterling Studio microphone. I recently switched to an iMac from PC which has streamlined and simplified recording in a significant way.
I have easy access to a brand new state-of-the-art studio (five miles from my home) which uses the studio version of ProTools for radio/TV and more.
I'm a writer/photographer with an appreciation for detail. I am especially good at taking direction (I've been a director) and am dedicated to producing a quality project whether it be in my writing or in voice-over work. I am a great creative problem solver and have often helped my clients fine-tune or even rewrite copy.
