B.S. Applied Mathematics and Economics: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 2011
I attended and even hosted countless high-school public speaking, debate and forensics workshops and tournaments in every capacity from student to lecturer and administrator
I was also the captain of my high-school debate team, five time national qualifier, and Pennsylvania State champion in policy debate in 2007. I was also a member of the concert and marching bands in high-school.
While in college, to earn my degrees I had to learn and develop the special public speaking skills required to present my own research and deliver peer/professional research, that was highly technical, to groups of individuals with diverse education levels and backgrounds. I also excelled in my communication intensive classes out of major, including several upper level philosophy classes, where discussion was a primary factor in judging achievement, and an environmental issues course where I was required to defend both sides of an argument publicly, as well as moderate peer discussions/debates.
Furthermore, after a successful campaign to be elected event coordinator for the colleges progressive political organization, I organized, facilitated, and prepared members to speak at events where effective communication is essential to delineate subtle differences of opinion.
