When I was 12 years old a teacher of mine, Mrs. gave me a mic in the middle of a school auction and asked me to run with it. The entire room stopped and looked to see who it was on the mic. She told me that I had the single best voice she had ever heard. Very smooth, comforting and honest. It charged confidence and it invited attention. She continued to say that I had a gift and that I should use it. I started in radio production when I was 16 years old. I am now 36. As an on air personality, callers found it very hard to believe my age. The station ran a promo to guess my age and the average came in at 38. There were guesses from 24 to 48. Almost every day of my life I get complimented on my voice. It can be warm and deep for narrations, sexy and fun for commercials, smooth and professional for presentations and every variation in between. I live for production and always strive to make the project that I am currently working on even better than the last. I eventually became one of the youngest program and production directors in the country at the age of 20 and ran 4 stations in southern Oregon and northern California. I was the morning personality for one of those stations. When I took it over we were in 18th place for women 25-54. 6 months later, the books came out and we were #2 women 25-54. We were #1 by the years end. I am not in the radio game any longer. I stick now to voice over work of all kinds. From TV and radio commercials, documentaries, cartoons, books, ect. I even prerecord Bible verses that play periodically throughout our Sunday services at the church where my wife and I have attended for the past 10 years.
I went to our local community college, Rogue Community College, and received my Associates in communications. Graduated with honors. 4.0 GPA in high school and 3.9 GPA in college.
I have a dead room office in my home and do all of my recording and mixing digitally though my computers and boards. The quality is incredibly professional. For larger jobs, I rent out a studio here in town.
My wife, 3 kids and I just moved to Orlando, Kissimmee, Florids in June, 2008. I am looking for a full time position at a studio, advertising agency or some related production office with voice over work. My wife's entire family lives there. Her mother was the last to move there in 2007. Her family owns many successful businesses and are very involved in many community events, charities, fund raisers and one is in politics (don’t hold it against him, he is still a nice guy.). This was a positive move forward for my family and one that will last the rest of my days. Feel free to get a hold of me with any contacts regarding my plans to settle down in Florida. Sometimes it is not what you know, it is who you know. If you know someone that can help, they will thank you for putting us in contact with each other. My personal e-mail is dukelley@yahoo.com . I would appreciate any help you might have to offer. Contract pending, I will always continue to do voice over work from my home studio to fulfill job requests such as yours through this site. I look forward to working with you and hope to hear from you soon.
