Primarily, I have been involved in various demanding theatre roles. Ranging from comic relief (King Sextimus from Once Upon A Mattress, Dazzle from Starmites, Quince from Midsummers Night Dream, Donny from The Book of Liz) to the Good Guy (Macduff from Macbeth, FotoFinish from Hello Out There), to the notorious bad guy (Lank Hawkins from Crazy For You), with many in between. With each role I bring a new voice, with its own idiosyncrasies.
I am also a filmmaker, and use my own voice frequently. My most recent work, Focus - which explored my relationship with sight and sound - was solely voice over. I am in the process of filming other works, both celebrating my successes and exploring the depths of my heartaches.
Eight years theatre, two years television, Rodenburg breathing technique, Alexander technique, five years singing (Bass), Embodying the Book taught at Evergreen. Voice Over class hosted by Evergreen state college, and many other voice focused/inclusive classes at Evergreen.
My microphone is a Sennheiser MD416-U, on mic stand with pop filter, and I use a Behringer Xenyx 802 mixer.
I have various voice presets on my recording software to carry the weight of the piece, depending on if I want my bass rumble to shine through, or if I want to capture the vitality of my excitement.
My voice is adept in exploring. From acting for stage, television, and film to singing many different genres.
I'm also working on increasing my home recording capabilities.
