Hello, my name is Denisha Davenport and I hail from all over but consider DC and Maryland home. Considered a military brat, I have lived in over 5 states before the age of 12. I studied public health at the University of Maryland College Park TERP TERP TERP and entered the educational field where she has taught grades prek3-5th grade, mentored high school students at Howard Upward Bound, as well as acted as Site Director for enriched afterschool programs for students at various charter schools here in the DMV area. I finished my dual masters in School Counseling/Clinical Mental Health at Trinity Washington University with a concentration in Urban Counseling. I am currently the school counselor at Friendship Public Charter School in Southeast DC. Empowering the power within the youth is her purpose and she stands in it proudly. When she is not being a superhero, I moonlight as a bartender here in DC at Denson Liquor Bar. I am also a part of the Inside Out Radio collective that hosts a show every Tuesday from 2-3pm on WPFW 89.3 Public Radio. I enjoy sleeping, all forms of music, dancing, playing super Mario at A League of Her Own, and watching Peppa Pig with kids at the school! Catch me if you can!
