I am first of all a musician/singer (Big D & the Good News Blues). I started doing radio spots for my concert tours in Florida in 2002. It was obviously a small operation if I was doing the commercials as well as the concerts, yeah, well, which brings me to this point in my life. Not really going to make any money in the music biz, so I thought about what I'm good at that I enjoy doing that could actually make me money and happy to go to work, and this is it!
I have recently done a couple of radio spots for a station in LA (Louisiana:) One for a Realtor and another for Chevron with Techron. The station manager there says I'm doing great with amazingly fast turn around. I'm very flexible, and a fast learner, so I'm not afraid to try dramas, or car commercials, or jingles, or whatever. I'm just happy to be getting my feet wet in this business. Give me a try, I might just surprise you!
High School, that's about all the formal training I have. But, I've been singing in a band for the last 15 years, and have started to write a lot in the last year and a half. I am the advertising/promotions person for the band ie I design and print flyers, t-shirts, cd covers, etc.), and have a ton of recording equipment, with my absolute favorite piece being the Alesis Masterlink (High Resolution Master Disc Recorder)
Yamaha Pro Mix 01 mixer, Tascam DA-38 8 track recorder, Shure Beta 87 Microphone, Alesis Masterlink, Macintosh laptop, ipad.
I also have access to a whole lot more equipment and a professional recording engineer if something is needed beyond the equipment mentioned above.
My desire is to do an excellent job...everytime. My goal is to humbly do what I am told. I want to give the client exactly what they want and I aim to please. I will do everything in my power to make the client happy with the voice over. I also learn very fast and get better with direction.
Thanks so much for considering me for your VO project! D
