I have narrated some training videos for various companies I have been employed by, from "How to Assist the Undress Process at a Step-off-pad While Wearing Waterproof Clothing and a PAPR" to a comprehensive computer-based guided tour of a new effluent treatment facility (for which I wrote most of the copy).
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor. My work experience as a Control Room Operator at a nuclear reactor gave me the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Operations.
Alienware Area 51-M15x.
MBox 2
ProTools 8 LE, with several other recording and editing packages playing a supporting role.
DAK cardioid condenser microphones.
I know the basics of recording and simple editing, and I'm earnestly working at learning the rest of ProTools' capabilities.
In my career since my reactor closed, I have spent years as a Technical Writer and Editor, writing Operating Procedures of various types for a number of different facilities, Technical Manuals, Administrative Procedures, and other supporting and descriptinve documents. I have worked at a Science Museum, writing and editing display copy and publicity materials for the Museum. I have been trained as a Hazard Analyst, and have written several dozen Nuclear Safety Hazard Analyses for new processes, systems, activities, and newly-discovered information. I have the honor to be a "first reader" for a New York Times #1-bestselling novelist, Patricia Briggs.
