Twenty-eight years of classroom teaching, with lots of personal experience in drama and music, narration and public speaking. Most of my vocal experience has been within local institutions (school, church) but I'm interested in trying new frontiers!
My mother was an English teacher, and I grew up with excellent diction, pronunciation, and projection. Choir and ensemble experience taught me to project and enunciate carefully; years in the classroom taught me to be precise and articulate. Decades of acting in dramatic roles taught me timing and characterization. On top of all that, I'm an extrovert and just oozing with self-confidence!
I have a small digital recording unit, which allows me to make mp3 files from recordings.
I'm an exceptionally good reader, familiar with a wide variety of technical jargon (medical, engineering, scientific, educational), and have a neutral American accent (born in "Joyzee", raised in central California!) Experienced vocalist in choirs, ensembles, quartets; instrumentalist (guitar, bass, folk instruments); and composer (synthesizer w/ drum machine). I'm good with kids and adults! I'll be retiring from teaching in about 5 years, and would like to develop voice talent work as a second career.
