I have completed a few voice projects so far, including three projects in English and one each in French, German and Japanese. These are largely word and sentence sets for computer programs in vocabulary learning and children's phone apps. I am also a primary school teacher and as such my voice is very much a central tool of my profession. Reading aloud is a big part of my day to day work, and a primary teacher must do this well in order to retain children's attention and interest. This is something I really enjoy doing, and would love to be able to do professionally!
I have a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (in German and Japanese); a Diploma of Education plus a Graduate Certificate of Education (in gifted education). I also have a qualification in proof reading and copy editing from Chapterhouse in the UK, and one as a translator of German and English with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators & Interpreters in Australia.
I record using a good quality microphone with interface to my computer software, and do my own editing; I am experienced in radio work including recording of audio stories for broadcast, as well as live broadcasting (in a volunteer capacity).
I believe that my teaching experience will be valuable, as will my proof reading qualifications and experience in writing articles for a freelance website. My skills in English grammar and expression are excellent, as evidenced by my proofreading qualification as well as my work as a marker of national literacy tests and recognition as one of the top markers for accuracy. I am also a fast typist with very good general computer skills.
