I own and operate a Sound Design company, creating sound, vocal and Foley effects either with my voice, found/known objects or computer generated or in combination. I have designed sound for plays from Greek Tragedies to Shakespeare to American iconic to modern, both traditional and anachronistic. I do a lot of SFX, SD, Audio-for-Video plus narrations/V.O. for industrials, technicals.
I Started as a student DJ at the Lunch-time Radio in my Grade School cafetorium (basically learning how to use and abuse the DuKane Paging Systems). I was also the Language Lab "lab rat". This progressed to singing - while drumming - in small bands during High School. Learned 3 years of German there, as well as repaired the DuKane language lab (my paid 'punishment' for 'abusing' the P.A. systems). Later, in college, I was forced - by my love-in girlfriend then - into Swing Choir Servitude (that was the actual name of the group), and still work for the C.I.A. when called upon to scare our enemies through the use of my hilarious 'take' Jazz "Scatting". Learned audio production techniques for Live Sound also while in High School and beyond. Learned Recording Studio techniques ad hoc and from College on. AA 1983 from College of Lake County (Grayslake, IL) and BM (Percussion) 1986 from Northern Illinois University. GM /CE Streaming Control for a few local college and high school radio and streaming stations since January 2005 to present.

Own 2 complete DAWs one with CASIO and Kurtzweil keyboards, over 400 virtual synths on call over 3 networked computers; Sony Vegas Pro, SONAR, BB2008 with Finale, Cool Edit Pro (final version before Adobe purchase)/Adobe Audition, FL Studio Producer, the latest versions and at least one pre-latest installed and ready. Effects are SFXPro and SFX from Stage Research, Inc. (The latter more mainly for programming audio designs for stage plays, but used for tricky overdubs and on-the-fly overlays in live-reads). Gentner two-line hybrid phone patch hooked to a 10-line Ring Central office phone system with ATT TrueVoice conferencing. Computers linked to main network based on Comcast Business Class internet (150 down, 75 up - adjustable to needs of contract)
I have held mainly lead to supporting roles in at least 24 stage plays to date, alas, no Musicals (however, I would "give up the pit" for a chance to audition for a cigar-smoking part in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying!). Avid online chess player (1500s),. I tried stand-up comedy for a year - until I realized that it is an actual profession. I will scat, but only for comic effect - or the preservation of the great USA. Part-Arrange (no field or effect design) old 70s/80s Jazz Fusion and Film Score music for Drum Corps, corps styled AAA High School & College Marching Bands.
