I never thought I would hear my funny cartoon voice on an FM radio station until I started working in radio jingles. Up to that point I had always done background vocals for songs or live performances. Fortunately, both types of recordings came easily and I have been working in that area for the past 9 years. My experience includes all kinds of music from salsa to gospel, from R&B to mariachi, not to mention the cartoon characters that I portray with ease. My work experience includes the following:
- SR Studio, South Gate - 9 years - background vocals for various gospel artists, mostly in Spanish
- VR Productions, Covina - 6 years - background vocals for CDs, radio and TV jingles
- FM Audio Productions - radio jingles for stations such as 97.9FM, 105.5FM
- Arranging and performing background vocals for various recordings, vocal coaching for voiceover artists during the recording session
- Work for the Christian industry includes jingles for 1580AM "Radio Zion", background vocals for CD recordings, background vocals for live performances with Christian artists such as Eddie Soto, Eric Porta, Mirna Arenas, Jennie Zelaya and others.
I have not had any professional vocal training; I have educated myself over the years and have developed a wide range of abilities through working in different studios and singing different styles of music. I am a formal vocal instructor for Song Cycle Music School in South Gate, CA, where I also taught piano, drums and music theory.
I am a very quick and eager learner. I work hard and take singing very seriously. I'm willing to put in long hours to reach perfection. I am a team player, but I have no problem holding my own. I can easily adapt to any style of music or voice quality, I have no problem harmonizing and I put in 120% of my effort so that everyone is happy with the final product, be it what it may.
