Being a military brat, the feedback that I hear the most from people is about my accent. My mother was raised in South Jersey and my father was raised in Mississippi. I spent my entire adult life living in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Each of those cultures are seamlessly woven into my personality, so often times people are not able to place my origin solely by the way that I speak. My dialect is so unique that it almost immediately sparks a conversation the moment I meet someone.
