My experience comes directly from the classroom. I find that to engage children, voice level and modulation are critically important. I have recorded many books for students with reading difficulties with the goal being two-fold: to make books accessible to children and to make listening to a story as interesting and engaging as possible. I believe now is the time to expand upon the enjoyment I find in my classroom by lending my voice to businesses and organizations.

I am an educator with extensive on-the-job-training about the ways my voice can affect an outcome --it can escalate or de-escalate a situtation. I find that I need to employ a different voice quality for different situations--excitment, perhaps, when starting a something new and wanting student buy-in; quiet calmness when trying to be mindful of a student's feelings, etc. Of course, 20 years of mothering experience comes in handy as well--many opportunities to try out all kinds of tones and voices!
