Every other night, I have to be Lady Gaga, Axl Rose, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John, among others. I'm a dueling pianist. I perform a high energy, request driven show for a very diverse audience. It's music. It's theater. It's improv comedy. And one of the pillars of a great show is a strong, versatile voice. The shows themselves have not been recorded, save for people's i-phones. But the audiences keep coming back, and I like to think that, in part, it's my voice that keeps bringing them back.
I've taken voice lessons in Boston and San Francisco, though mostly for singing. I have also taken a power speaking course.
I do not have my own studio.
I come from a corporate as well as a music background, having worked in aviation for nearly a decade. As a result, I possess a good business acumen. I also work well with deadlines and have a history of delivering on time.
Additionally, I work well on teams; dueling pianos and group-based project work in my aviation career have both given me great exposure to teamwork.
Finally, working in the performing arts has given me the confidence in knowing that I can perform, even when not in peak physical condition (such as being sick). In my three years of performing, I haven't missed a gig.
