I’m basically an actor. I can be very versatile and become whatever the client wants.
I’ve been a drill sergeant, a steelhead salmon, and a soccer mom. For me, it’s all in a day’s work.I’ve been part of the business for more than 20 years, but my heart has been in it for much longer.
I knew from the eighth grade that I wanted to do this, when I enrolled in a correspondence school for announcers called "Career Academy", and later went on to get a Bachelor's in Radio-TV from Southern Illinois University.
After moving to Boston, I began to “hit the pavement” and look for voice acting jobs. My jobs have included narrating the amenities of new homes on a TV real estate show, announcing movie theater times for voice mail, reading steamy romance novels for audio books as well as radio and TV spots.
Several years ago I moved to Oregon and had to reestablish my career, making lots of new contacts. Thankfully,I was experienced with promoting myself, which helps a lot. They say it's 90% marketing and 10% talent. I have a natural smile to my voice which is highly desirable to most clients. I record projects from my home studio, and have phone patch capabilities from a local recording company. I’m willing to work hard, can do an accent or two or know how to stay in a character for an extended period of time. I find voice acting to be a challenging and rewarding career.

I'm very active in local theater.I participate, on stage and backstage, in about 3 shows per year. Performing in front of a live audience is a great confidence builder. I love the immediate feedback I get in the form of laughter and applause. This has been my "hobby" for the past 30 years and I'll probably continue it until I'm 90 !
