With over 35-years in the broadcast industry, working in a number of capicities from on-air and production talent, to Program Director and Operations Manager for both radio and TV, the part of responsibities, I liked the most has always been reading, interpreting, and delivering the voice over content as a finished recording.
Most of my work has been done for stations I've been employed with, but a couple of years ago, my voice servies were utilized by AARP Pharmacy Services by way of voice mail greetings at their Roanoke, Virginia call center.
Most recently, I performed freelance voiceover talent for Suzuki Honda Motorcycles of Lyncburg and State Farm Insurance, also in Lynchburg, Virginia.
The Suzuki-Honda Motorcycle spot was fast-pasted, and voiced with an outdoor fun-loving, getaway-from-it-all read, while the State Farm Insurance commercial was rendered with a stately, matter-of-fact, down-to-earth delivery.
I knew at an early age that I wanted to be in this business. In high school, I worked as an intern at the local newspaper and learned everything from investigating to writing a story, editing, layout and printing. I was also very active with the schools Drama Department and participating in many roles.
After high school, I continued to perform on stage in several dramas, and entered braodcasting via radio, and later television.
While in radio, I've been Production Director, Music Director, Program Director, News Director, as well as on-air talent.
In television, I done everything from Master Control Operator to Cameraman and Technical Director.
I've done commercials for both Media, and I've rendered services at a few stations as the facility's voice over talent.
