I started getting in to voice overs when I did a spot for the WB morning show as an actor. They liked my voice on camera and asked me to do a voice-over for the spot as well. The producer was great and guided me threw the spot. He said I had a great voice for voice over but would definitely need some coaching. I was recommended Marla Kirban from multiple sources and so I began my coaching with her. After a few months of one on one lessons I felt confident enough in my voice over skills to record my demo. Since then I have been going on castings for Disney, Nickelodeon, Loreal, etc, and seeking a suitable agent.
Marla Kirban voice over, Holly Mandel Improvolution, Sheila Grey Improv and sensory classes
I have a home recording system that allows me to record basic auditions and send them via e-mail mp3
I am an actress as well and have been doing improv and comedy improv for over three years. I think having the ability to act and comfortably ad lib is essential in both acting and voice over.
