While I haven't ever acted professionally, I have spent an extensive amount of time on the phone working with people of all walks of life. I have worked doing live phone surveys for College research, and I've also worked for bank security. While this isn't voice acting, it does require an authoritative voice, and the charisma to keep someone on the phone interested, engaged, and most importantly, active! There are few things worse in this life than listening to a monotonous, lifeless life on the other end of the phone to make you feel devoid of ever finding another sign of life in whatever automated wasteland you find yourself in. I was able to conduct my voice with clarity, conciseness, and professionalism while responding to inappropriately funny situations such as someone defecating in an ATM vestibule, all the way to comforting bank staff after a robbery. I haven't acted, but I have had trial by fire.
Graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Degree in Criminal Justice. Following my graduation I served for a year in Americorps Emergency Response Team in St. Louis where I responded to natural disasters, wildfires, and conservation efforts. After my completion of a year of service with the Emergency Response team I returned to my home state of Ohio where I began to go back to school for my Master's Degree in Information Technology. After a year of education, and a 3.7 GPA I was unable to find a desirable job, so I decided to move to California, and try to go in a new direction professionally. I am currently in a new full time job, but have always been interested in voice acting. I have spent my entire life watching various animated films, animes/cartoons, playing video games, and learning the intricacies that are involved with creating an organic character, and how important their voice is in that capacity. I have taken several college, and high school level courses in public speaking as well.
As I've already said a few times, i've never had any relevant training to voice acting, other than public speaking courses, but I've studied the talking box in the family living room for years. I've loved the classics and 5-line voice acting stars like Tom and Jerry employed, all the way to modern day where the Simpsons have become a household name, and more alive than real living and breathing pop culture icons! I think some of the faceless stars of voice acting like Steve Baker that have given us incredible characters like Master Chief from the Halo series have given fans a living breathing person they can connect with, all without ever showing their face. It's truly an incredible talent I hope that I can share in!
