I have advertised all the major beers in Ireland including, Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks, Bass etc.
I have, at different stages, been the voice of Bank of Ireland. Bord Failte (The Irish Tourist Board), Riverdance, The National Concert Hall, The Irish Revenue Commissioners (IRS), Peugeot Cars, Squeeze soft drinks,The Irish Times, The Irish Independent, and the Irish Examiner newspapers and Bounty Kitchen Rolls. One of the most famous lines on Irish television was when I recorded for Rolo chocolates "Do you love anyone enough to give them your last rolo?" It ran for many years.
I presented a series of 20 game shows for Ulster Television, called "Password". Thirty television Careers programmes for Radio Telifis Eireann, called "Options" and countless radio programmes including a weekly half hour poetry programme.
I started my career aged twelve in a radio play for the BBC. Through my teens I was in repertory theatre at the Lyric Theatre Belfast, sometimes with a new play every two weeks. I won a scholarship to Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and graduated with a degree status AGSM and several acting prizes in 1974. After four years of continuous work in theatre, radio, film and commercials. I was appointed Radio Drama Producer with the Irish National Station. I continued to record commercials but also produced more than 100 plays. Since returning to freelance work I have worked in every area of broadcasting. I moved to New Jersey in January 2009 and am now available for work Here and in New York.
I created a sound proof recording studio in my home and installed a Dididesign M-Box, Presonus Tube-Preamp and a Neumann TLM 103 condenser Mic
I have never really worked at anything outside of acting, broadcasting or writing, but I am qualified to teach and I have set and marked many diploma and higher diploma examinations for the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Drama in Dublin. I am currently the Artistic Director of The Percy French Summer School in Roscommon, Ireland. I am considered to be something of an expert on the works of W. B. Yeats and recently performed a programme of his plays and poetry at The National Library of Ireland in Dublin. I am a keen sportsman, especially Rugby and horse sports. I foxhunt, showjump etc. and have done the live commentry on the European 3 Day Event Championships.
