I worked for Newell Broadcasting Inc. in High School for 3 years. I was a part-time broadcaster but they also requested my expertise frequently for voice-over work. I then returned to broadcasting with the same company for 3 years after college. I started out doing part-time work but was quickly promoted to full time. On average I would voice and produce anywhere from 5 to 10 ads per day.
I received extensive on the job training in broadcasting, voice, and production. I am a self-starter and learned from my more experienced colleagues. With time and experience I was able to start training the next generation of radio broadcasters in my area.
I was in band as a drummer in High School, which helped me learn more about music. Coupling this interest with those of my co-workers at the radio station allowed us to create the best known mobile DJ business in the Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota tri-state region. We were the only DJs in the area that included professional mixing with turntables and traveled and performed for nearly a decade.
I have an Audio Technica AT-2020 Studio Microphone (with stand, and pop filter), a Symetrix 528e voice processor, a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd Gen Audio Interface. I also have Presonus HD7 Headphones and Mackie CR4 Monitors. My computer is a MacBook where I am running Adobe Audition 2014.
While running my DJ business with my coworkers I also served on the city counsel and worked as a loan officer, gaining knowledge in finance and the political world. I also understand construction.
I relocated to Florida due to my health and am currently waiting for a heart transplant. I rediscovered my love of media while recovering from my first surgery and have the added knowledge of medial terminology because of my experiences.
