Awhile ago and not so far away, I got a receptionist job at a radio station. It wasn't long and I discovered that I was much better at writing copy than I was at scheduling ads. Then I discovered that I was pretty darned good at recording the copy I wrote. I moved on to another station just down the road and had more fun than anyone should have hosting my own afternoon radio show, writing copy, recording ads, doing interviews. For a time I did the voice work for the MN Vietnam Veterans Memorial fund raising campaign. My bosses, all veterans in the radio businesses, graciously told me that my voice could get me a job "in the big time". I never pursued the bright lights. Instead I went in to advertising sales. Now it's time to put my real talents to good use...for you!
My college major was physical education. My love was and is, the arts. While in college I performed in many stage plays playing anything from a tart (not the bakery kind)......to a horse! Over the years I've taken every opportunity to use my speaking ability by making introductions at concerts, doing narration, recording greetings, telephone messages, invitations and reading children's books and poetry to my daughter and anyone else who would listen!
My years of experience in the field of advertising has taught me how to present information, verbally and visually, so it is absorbed and accepted by the consumer. It has made me more aware of how people listen. How they perceive. It has taught me how to use my voice for desired effect.
