I started out at age 11 acting in commercials with my twin sister. We both decided to go behind the camera after college, Amy went into make-up and hair and I joined my mother and other sister in forming a video production company called Lasch Media Productions. In 1993, I desiged and installed an editing facility that I still use today. During the 22 years of Lasch Media I started my own television show, called F Sharp TV, that I produce, host, and do voice overs, as well as shoot and edit. After many compliments on my voice, I started doing the voice-overs for other productions we were producing, and then doing voice-overs for other production companies.
For 20 years, being the technical director for Lasch Media, I recorded 100's of voice-overs and worked with fine talent. I learned a lot through the people and the recording process. Also, I started F#TV and had my own voice to direct. It was close to a character voice in the earlier days. It was my rock and roll journalist voice. Now, I've done narration, commercials, and other TV shows. Still I am considering a radio talk show. I did all our Lasch Media voice mail greetings as well.
Being a video editor for over 15 years has helped reduce my studio recording time. I know both the skill to master a voice-over and the technical aspects to make a great recording in the most efficient way. Writing for F#TV for 11 years has been an asset in learning to speak the written words in a way people can digest.
