About Alison
Alison Burns has been performing professionally for almost 20 years. After graduating from the American Musicial and Dramatic Academy in New York City, she went on to star as Maureen in the National Tour of the Broadway musical RENT!, Belle/Rapunzel/Little Mermaid in Off Broadway’s hit musical Disenchanted! and numerous other national and regional productions. Her favorites include: Donna in Mamma Mia, Velma in Hairspray, Janet in The Rocky Horror Show, Olive in the 25th Annual Putnam Country Spelling Bee, Martirio in Bernarda, Susan in Tick, Tick… BOOM! and Antonia in Man of La Mancha. Her lyrics can be heard in the scores of Waist Watchers: The Calorie Free Musical, A Big Apple Christmas and Holiday Party of One. When she’s not on stage she can be found coaching students of all ages in voice and acting at www.findyourlightcoaching.org and she is also a successful Comedian and Podcaster with 10K Dollar Day: the imaginary luxury travel comedy podcast! www.10kdollarday.com - find her podcast on Apple Music, Spotify and Stitcher. You can see her in numerous commercials and films, you can hear her on radio and TV, she received a 2010 & 2012 Loafie Award for “Best Actress in Tampa Bay” and a Jeff Norton Award for “Best Supporting Actress in a Musical” for her role as Velma in Hairspray at American Stage in St. Pete, FL. Her favorite role to date, however, is playing Mom to her beautiful daughters, Emma & Hannah and Wife to her always supportive Husband, Chris.
