Abdiel LeRoy began his voiceover career some 20 years ago in New York City with a nationally broadcast television advertisement for Colombian Coffee. From there, he went on to record commercials for many more major brands, including Delta Airlines, Dunkin Donuts, Duracell, Kodak, Pepsi, and Mercedes.
These were interspersed with narrations for public-relations and corporate training films, along with recordings of poetry and audio books for the U.S. National Library of Congress.
His broadcasting roles include live radio, interviews, narrations, and radio promos. Abdiel went on to live in China for several years, where he became the go-to guy for British-accent recordings for educational texts in Beijing. He also recorded many more audio books for China Radio International and again voiced commercials for major brands, including China Mobile.
Meanwhile, he has both scripted and voiced several documentaries for the Beijing-based Xinhua News agency and shorter pieces for China Central Television.
Finally, Abdiel has often appeared in theatre and film and is a leading exponent of Shakespeare, one-man shows, and has dabbled in stand-up comedy.
