For announcing and voiceover work, I was mainly "self-taught." That means that I couldn't afford formal training at the time, but learned by listening and reading as much as I could. I was also fortunate enough to interview over 15 top radio personalities for a high school newspaper column. The incredible kindness and generosity of Dan Ingram, Bruce Morrow and their colleagues gave me an education that money could not buy. When I finished high school, I enrolled in a broadcasting school. I couldn't keep up with the tuition and had to withdraw. Within a week, I got a job teaching in another broadcasting school/production house.
