Voice Description
I am articulate, with no discernable accent. I am not a caricature: my style ranges from plain for instructional, training, and IVR applications; to dynamic and animated for marketing purposes.
With my emcee experience, I can affect an announcer or DJ style as well.
My timbre is warm and bassy, and ranges in pitch from tenor to contralto.
I am always looking for opportunities, however, to leave my comfort zone so I'll try anything just to see if I can pull it off!

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I don't do impersonations, but I am willing to try characterizations.
My Voice Experience
I am brand-new to the voiceover industry. I am a musician and an audio engineer by trade, and I am just now taking my friends' and family's advice that I "should have been a broadcaster."
My Training
B.A., Audio Engineering, 1981
Considerable experience in theater and emcee work. No formal voiceover training.
My Studio Equipment
I use a custom-designed, anechoic vocal booth with a pressure zone mic that is not susceptible to sibilance or popping.
For audio production and mixing I have the usual setup of a screamin' PC with a magic bag of editors, converters, and plugins. I'll even pull out some old-school analog equipment if I am looking for a particular sound.
Additional Skills
I'm an engineer first, so no project leaves my studio until it has the right sound -- not just voice -- for the job.
