Voice Description

My experience began when I was asked to read the English news bulletins when I lived in the Far East. I had one year with Radio Brunei and 2 years with Radio Malaya. In Hongkong I was a commentator for RTV for architectural/planning items. (I am a chartered architect and planner by profession). I am a commentator for our local club regattas and have experience as a lecturer at Liverpool University . My voice is clear and projects well. I enjoy narration and explanatory documentary work.

My Voice Experience

In Hongkong I produced and read a descriptive illustration of my company's plans for a new city in Fujian province as part of an exhibition, The narrative was illuminated by a large scale contoured map which lit up as various features were described. The company was Lippo Group and the recording was done in 1995.

My Training

At school I had elocution lessons which helped develop a clear speaking voice. I was involved in School plays and later was a speaker for the North west National Trust convention in Manchester. My classes at University included lectures on architectural practice and management, contract law and planning legislation.

My Studio Equipment

I do not have my own studio. I have studied acoustics in building design but have no other audio engineering knowledge.

Additional Skills

I am now semi-retired and living in the town where I grew up again after a long career abroad. For 10 years I was the director of an American firm in Hongkong and regularly visited Omaha Nebraska (HQ of Leo a Daley).Our clients were Citigroup, Kodak,Sears Roebuck,Dow Chemical amongst others).I also lived in Australia and the Philippines and worked in several Asian countries. I am interested in sports including rugby,soccer,rowing,cricket and motor racing.
