While training as an actor in England, I took a course on radio and recording. We had the great please to study with Sunny Ormonde, who plays Lillian in the long running BBC radio soap, "The Archers". We recorded and produced our own monologue, a group poetry reading (The Owl and the Pussycat!), and a selection of narrations and excerpts from literature and theatre. I recorded some Pennsylvanian poetry for the Scottish composer Ian Stewart's recent composition "Rock That Burns" which combines live alto saxophone with my pre-recorded voice. We had met previously as I provided the spoken voice (a recitation of Emily Dickson poetry) to a live performance of an earlier composition "To Make A Prairie" with the Royal College of Music saxophone ensemble.
I have both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Voice Performance from The Crane School of Music and The Royal College of Music. In between my two music degrees, I studied acting for a year at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where I studied radio/voice overs with Sunny Ormonde.
