PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Reporter with WAFB-TV Channel 9 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Experienced hands-on training with news reporters on producing, editing and broadcasting news stories for television. Tested on camera, trained in creating voice overs and commercials, edited news copy from both AP and UPI wire services, assisted on-staff meteorologist with compiling weather data, located slides and film footage to assist reporters in producing their news stories, and went out on news stories in Baton Rouge and New Orleans with various different reporters.
Intern radio broadcast reporter with WNFO-AM 1300 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Learned the technical side of running the control board for different broadcasts , and read the antenna tower meters for the radio station. Produced, hosted and broadcasted a radio talk show entitled, "Working Woman", five days a week while maintaining a thirty hour per week job at the newspaper company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; the State Times and Morning Advocate. Notable guests from the area were interviewed first by telephone and then live, on the air, at WNFO Radio where topics of interest to working women were covered and aired. Produced and broadcasted a WNFO current events segment weekly on the radio as well as news feature stories, commercials and the local weather forecast.
