About Shayla
I have a genuine, clear and approachable voice. I naturally have lots of warmth and energy, but can easily turn on the attitude, sass and sarcasm. I also am able to sound hip, urban, street-wise and Black/African American. I have a wide vocal range, which allows me to sound very chipper or cute and flirty when I'm in my higher range, but I can utilize my lower range for sultry, sexy or smooth vibe.
I studied acting in college and can also adopt characters - I would say my strengths are whimsical, quirky, comical and sophisticated characters.

- Experience, training, and equipmentI received extensive training from Marla Kirban Studios in New York City and have recorded eight jobs since beginning my voice over career in August 2009, these include Four 30 second radio spots, Four voice overs for educational videos. BA in Theater from Trinity College, Hartford, CT in 2002. Voice Over study with Marla Kirban Studios in New York City. I utilize a Audio-Technica AT2020 Condesner USB microphone and Audacity for recording purposes. I have been singing all my life - choirs, acapella groups and a lot of musical theater. I am a Mezzo Soprano and can read music. Mt.Vernon, NY is located approximately 30 minutes from New York City in Westchester County and I am available to record in studios in the New York metropolitan area.
