Voice Description
The best way to describe it would be versatile. I can give you a basic read-through of written copy, I can liven it up with a warm, lively voice, make it dramatic with an "epic" narrative that harkens back to the works of Homer or just reach back and throw out a professional, ornate voice.
Even then, I'm not sure how to describe my own voice because I'm still developing it, finding new accents, styles and tones to use. I feel that education is a life-long process; vocal training is one of these.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Zany, energetic, professional, an "epic" narrative voice, "hard-sell," smooth, sexy, raspy, creepy, non-sequitor,, bombastic, over-the-top, hammy, stupid, animated, perverted, angry, livid, brooding, reflective.
My Voice Experience
My voiceover experience mostly deals with a combination of personal projects over the past five years and as production director/production assistant at WPPJ, a college radio station. Since there was no one "looking over my shoulder," so to speak, I was free to experiment. I developed a love with tinkering and exploring my voice: Dull, monotone rambling, a voice that oozed of cheese and ham, a wannabee Don LaFontaine; whatever it took to optimize the copy in hand, I relentlessly accomplished.
To this day, I pride myself in a strong work ethic, an eagerness to learn and better myself in all aspects and a drive to succeed, fueled by a strong hatred of failure.
My Training
A graduate of Point Park University's School of Communication, I focused my efforts towards audio/video production, and as an offset on that focus, voice work. I took several classes in broadcast announcing, radio production and vocal technique which helped to develop (be it deliberately or not) my vocal technique, diction, cadence, dialects, styles and skills.
I also have five years of experience at an acting school (when I was a young lad many moons ago), a smattering of plays and musicals under my belt and heavy involvement in several school choirs, including a prestigious chamber choir (I know, I'm shocked too).
My Studio Equipment
- Rode NT1-A microphone w/shock mount and pop filter.
- ART Tube MP Series Preamp.
i.e. "entry-level" microphone setup.
Additional Skills
Not only a "budding" voice-over "talent," I also specialize in editing and copy writing. I am highly experienced in Adobe Audition, Cool Edit Pro, Audacity, Corel Video Studio and have dabbled in the rich fruits of Pro Tools, Sony Vegas and Final Cut Pro.
As for Copy Writing, I strive to find ways to be creative and make advertisements stand out from the rest. It's all in the love for experimentation: To see what works and what doesn't. Granted, that wasn't for paid product, but the objective still stays the same. I want to make the best product possible and optimize my abilities for the project at hand.
