I work in public radio in Ausitn, TX where I am on the air as an announcer for the news station KUT. However I also record underwriting, promos and announcements for both the news (KUT) and the music (KUTX) stations requiring me to use a wide range of voice characteristics from ultra professional to air head.
In addition I have done voice over for projects ranging from cartoons-as a sexy robot, PSA's on Downs Syndrom and childhood obesity, training videos for Phillips 66 and pharmaceutical companies, and documentaries, TV commercials, and Kickstarters.
As a producer I record and edit my own projects. I work on Protools and Adobe Audition.
I love the challenge of a new project. I love learning new characters and accents, and pushing myself to capture the vibe of whatever a job calls for.
I did my undergraduate work in Anthropology and my graduate studies in Media Studies at UT Austin. I've been working in public radio since 2000 and professionally working in the freelance VO field since 2007.
In 2005 I studied with voice coach Peyton Hayslip, Austin based and in 2010 I work shopped on VO and production with Brian Storm at a Media Storm workshop. mediastorm.com.
In addition, I work full time doing voice work and production for KUT/KUTX Austin, TX. I write, record and edit promos, psa's and underwriting and various documentaries and features.
I have access to a studio daily which is equipped with Road Broadcaster Mics, Protools 10, an ISND line, and a phone patch. I also have access to sound effects banks and field recording equipment.
I work full time for the public radio stations KUT and KUTX. I also do on camera work acting and spokes modeling. I write all the promotional copy for on air spots I produce for radio, and produce and host a live discussion program for KUT called Views and Brews.
