I first discovered my voice as a telemarketer. People were so mesmerized by the sound and tone of my voice that they would just hold the phone and listen and then comment on how lovely my voice sounded, then of course they would purchase what I was selling. My local church also discovered my voice over talent. I was asked to do our church announcements weekly on camera via video/internet. The announcements were presented in a news room type of setting. I set up the voice mail sytem for the church and the companies I used to work for. I also wrote the script and made the morning and closing announcements for the company I used to work for. I also MC weddings, fashion shows, graduations and other special events. I have also narrated plays, recorded text books and was a weekly radio reader for the blind. I did the voice over for Rules of the Road Driving video for Jumby Bay Studio,Voice over work for Boys Town USA with Banyon Commuications.
Most of my training was achieved through a telemarketing position I had years ago. Constantly reading a script over and over helped me to become more professional and watch my tone. I did take a course with Clayton studios in St. Louis(The voice over St.Louis). I trained with Carrie Hauk at HH studios.(Scene Acting I,II, and Acting for the Camera) I also received some radio training from Minds Eye Radio station in Illinois and audio book training from Talking tapes in St. Louis. Took classes at Voice One Studio in San Fransisco (Intro to VO, Teleprompter, and How to Audition). I have a BS in Corporate Communication.
I have a USB mic(all inclusive)computer, noise blocker,popper stopper, I use audacity to edit.
I've done some print work for Maytag and have written scripts for video announcements. I also wrote a script for our shopping center Westfield Crestwood/South County. I'v acted in and narrated various plays. When I worked for the airlines I participated in a couple of training videos.I acted in two movies one as an extra and the other had an extensive speaking role. Participated in several staged readings, industrials and commercials. I was a flight attendant for almost thirty years and had to make several PA announcements over the years.
