I've been doing professional voiceover, as well as on-camera and live presentation, for almost 20 years.
I started in the corporate environment as a Media Services Manager doing marketing and sales videos as well as some limited audio-only work for audiotape and CDs.
After that, I owned my own video, audio, and stage production company where I did countless voice jobs - everything from corporate and sales videos to radio commercials and instructional audio pieces.
Having been hired out of self-employment, I am now back in the corporate environment as a Communications and Video Production Manager for a dot-com and mobile app development company. My voice duties include on-camera tutorial pieces, app tutorials and promos, and live presentation in a variety of venues.
I'm also a YouTube hobbyist. I've done well over 100 gaming-related videos that include both on-camera and voice-over styles. While much more relaxed than professional videos, these pieces always contain audio of the appropriate quality and style for the gaming audience.
In all of the above scenarios, I was typically responsible for writing the copy, adding music and sound effects, and delivering an edited and finished project.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Processes with an emphasis in electronic media and business communications.
I've attended various voiceover seminars while at industry-related conferences. The seminars included how to manage clients, best practices while performing, and miscellaneous techniques for improving the quality of my voice product.
Stage acting was a passion of mine during college and high school, though I haven't pursued this much in the last 25 years. I've also begun to study standup comedy, but have yet to perform in that venue.
Beyond that, I am self taught and have done extensive research on the art of voiceover, on-camera work, and live presentations.
My audio recording setup includes a Shure SM7V microphone with a Makie DFX•6 mixer and a Tascam DR-07 digital recorder. The voiceover studio is acoustically dampened with just the right amount of reflection to add "presence" to audio tracks. Client monitoring of the recording session is available through a phone link.
I have access to a full video studio that includes 2 Sony ECM-44 wireless lavaliere microphones, acoustic dampening, 2 JVC GY-HD200 cameras, various lighting instruments, backgrounds, and more.
I use Adobe Audition for audio editing and Adobe Premiere for video post production. Audio and video files can be provided in just about any format.
I subscribe to both AudioBlocks.com and VideoBlocks.com which allows me to offer an assortment of music, sound effects, and stock footage to my clients for a nominal charge.
In my home I have a small studio for YouTube gaming videos. It's acoustically dampened and contains a Blue Snowball microphone, a Hitachi prosumer camera, and a variety of mid-level lavaliere microphones. This system is designed to provide videos for the YouTube audience that are of high quality but aren't overly polished.
I am qualified to operate all of the above equipment with the highest of quality and professionalism to give my clients a top-notch finished product.
