Voice Description
Mature male voice, with strong broadcast style for news, narrations, or industrials: authoritative, motivational, corporate, warm but firm. Extensive studio experience allows for a wide array of deliveries, from cool to warm, tough to soft, remote to intimate. Can play and be sexy too, with a strong ironic sense. Skilled at interpreting antithetical phrasing as well as dense prose in any style. Professional classical theater training and an academic degree in speech also allow for very deep dramatic interpretations where called for.

My Voice Experience
My resume (available on request) reflects some effort since late '08 to gain a foothold in the New York market. Topping the list are commercial, industrial and dramatic credits accrued over the last 22 months, at a time, interestingly, of enormous trouble in markets everywhere. I became very confused about my progress since I began freelancing in New York just as the markets crashed. However, looking at my latest resume, which also includes some additional skills training and upgrades, I am comfortable with the progress I've made thus far.
My Training
Emerson College, Boston, B.S. in Speech Education
Sherri Hodes, New York, voiceovers
Margaret Emory, New York, on-camera prime time episodic
Gloria Maddox, New York, contemporary scene study
Louis Burke, Shakespeare
My Studio Equipment
Audacity software with Snowball mike, finished v/o tracks only, no production services
Additional Skills
I am a mature person, with many work experiences, in and out of media, including construction, waiter/maitre'd, semi-truck driver, light carpenter, framer, and landscaper. In media, I have been a disc jockey, sports announcer, radio news reporter/writer/anchor, television news reporter/writer/anchor, and radio commercial writer/producer/voice talent.
In my twenties, I went to college on the GI Bill, and so was then, as one might say, a bit "out of time." However, I found that situation useful because it made me think harder - to reexamine many assumptions, to read more widely and deeply than I might have had I gone to college right out of high school. Needless to say there was a lot of history to look at in those days, not long after men landed on the moon. So while I focused on broadcasting for a time after college, I also found that I wanted to broaden my creative skills as much as possible; and so over the years I've been involved in theater, including lately some training in classical drama. Bringing it all back to the question of serving clients here, this variety of work and skills development means I have a strong, versatile voice to offer, along with a lot of experience in the media business as a collaborator and consultant, to get the job done well and on time.
Citing once again my degree in speech, I am also a qualified voice coach and can assist talent in interpreting scripts.
