Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Generic mid-western North American accent. I'd be glad to try other accents as requested. I have three kids - so I do voices, but they're usually spontaneous. Give me direction for a style or accent, I'll try to follow it.

My Voice Experience

I answer 9-1-1 and tell cops and firefighters where to go. I'm an old radio DJ guy (well, middle-aged) and a Dad of three kids (so entertaining is a part of my life).

My Training

B.S. in Radio/Television Broadcasting from the University of Southern Indiana, including two years on a comedic radio morning show, several years in Country Music radio, and part-time radio in various other formats. One year audio production for The Signal Podcast.Ten years in Emergency Communications (9-1-1 dispatcher and communications supervisor on police/fire radio and telephone communications system).

Podcasting-style home equipment only. Acer 2.3 ghz quad-core PC, USB microphone, Audacity for recording and editing.

Additional Skills

What has developed my VO skills? I was a radio DJ for seven years, two of those on a comedy morning show; I'm a parent so that entails many different kinds of voices: stern, funny, serious, furious, happy, sad, disappointed, exhilarated, exhausted; I'm a supervisor at work requiring training and presentations, as well as ad-libbing, and presenting material to media on and off-camera.
